Obituary of James A. Martin

James A. Martin, Jr. 83, of New Britain, died Friday morning. Born in New Britain, he lived in Berlin for twenty years and returned to New Britain, recently. He was a self employed carpenter, which allowed him to give of his time and talents to several local parishes. He also served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy.
Jim is survived by his wife Adele (St. Pierre) Martin, their five children James and his wife Ella Martin, Eileen and her husband Grant McStay, Timothy Martin, Theresa and her husband Owen Roberts and Philip Martin; seven grandchildren Meric, Matthew, Jordan, Ian, Olivia, Rebeca and Jennifer, and two great grandchild Riely and Richard and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters Marie Jannelle, Rita Oderman and Gertrude Prendergast.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell funeral Home 110 Franklin sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ann's Church North St. New Britain. Burial will follow in the Connecticut State Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Hospice 100 Double Beach Road Branford, CT 06405.
