Antonia Mari Ivars de Baixauli, 87, of New Britain succumbed to a long illness Thursday May 5, 2011, while a resident of the Alzheimer's Resource Center. Born in Denia (Alicante) Spain, the daughter of the late Vicente Mari and Maria Ivars, she came to this country and lived in New Britain since 1960. She was the widow of Frank Baixauli. A member of St. Mary Church, she had also been a member of the Spanish American Cultural Club. Mrs. Baixauli is survived by two daughters Frances Griffo of Rocky Hill, Vicenta Burnham of New Britain, a son Henry Baixauli; four grandchildren Charles Burnham, Roxanne Brown, Sarina Brandao and Frankie Baixauli; two great grandchildren Rowan Brown and Clarice Brown; a sister Josefa Mari Ivars of Spain; and several nieces and one nephew. She was predeceased by her son Angel Baixauli
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Resource Center 1261 South Main St. Plantsville, CT 06479.
