Mary (Morris) Garrity, 89, of Farmington and formerly of New Britain passed away on Tuesday morning, April 26, 2011, at the John Dempsey Hospital. Born August 16, 1921, she was a daughter of the late John and Katherine Morris. She was the wife at one time of the late William Garrity. Mary was employeed by the City of New Britain and had worked in the finance department for 22 years. She was also a lifetime member of the St. George Greek Orthodox Church and also was a member of the Golden Rascals as well. She is survived by her daughter Kathleen O'Leary of Plainville and her son-in-law, Patrick O'Leary of New Britain. She also leaves her beloved grandchildren, whom she adored very much, Michael and Christopher O'Leary ; her sisters, Flossie Sfiridis and Bessie Tierney, both of New Britain and her three nephews, Jim, George and John Sfiridis, and great nieces, Stephanie and Krista Sfiridis. She was predeceased by her three brothers, James, Tony and Andrew Morris. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with Triagnon Services at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 301 West Main Street, New Britain, CT 06052.
