Winifred (Kelly) Mele, 86, of Hamden, died Tuesday at Whitney Manor. She was born in New Britain and was the daughter of the late William and Laura (Gagnon) Kelly. She is survived by her daughter, Kate Mele, a professor at Roger Williams University; her son, Michael Mele, a resident of Hamden; and her brother, James Kelly, his wife, Anne, and their children.
Funeral services will be held Friday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter Church 98 Franklin Square New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whitney Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center 2798 Whitney Ave. Hamden, CT. 06518.
