Obituary of Anna Benikas

Anna Benikas, 91, of New Britain, died Monday at home. Born in Burlington, New Jersey the daughter of the late Leon and Frances Bukevich she lived many years in Lithuania and then came to New Britain. She had worked at various companies, retiring from the Fafnir Bearing Co. She was a very active member of St. Andrews Church, a member of the church's Ladies Guild, the Rosary Society and was a member of the Varpas Club. Mrs. Benikas is survived by her son Leon and his wife Ann Benikas of Falls Church, Virginia; two grandsons Joseph Benikas, and his girlfriend Lori Tynik, with whom she made her home, David and his wife Rhonda Benikas of Virginia, three granddaughters Joanne Benikas of Newington, Judy Benikas-Jarvis of New Britain and Susan and her husband Mike Cole of Virginia; and eight great grandchildren: Shawn Bryant, AnnMarie Janis, Rebecca Cole, Zachary Cole, Dalton Cole, Samanatha Cole, Wyatt Benikas and Jacob Benikas. She was predeceased by a brother who had lived in Lithuania. Funeral services will be held Thursday 10:30 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 A.M. at St. Andrews Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers , donations may be made to St. Andrews Church 396 Church St. New Britain, CT 06051.
