-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Nello J. Crenella, 91, of New Britain, died Saturday Morning at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, he was the husband of the late Lidia (Urgelowich) Crenella, who died April 28, 1997. After graduating from New Britain High School, Nello entered the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the 152nd Field Artillery in the France and Germany Campaigns. Employed for over 40 years at the Fafnir Bearing Company, he previously worked at Corbin Screw. He was a member of the Marchegian Society, Fafnir Seniors, the New Britain Senior Center, an active member of the Honey Bee Square Dancers, the Line Dancers and the Exercise Group of the New Britain Seniors. He also enjoyed local Theatre and going to Cape Cod with his family. Nello is survived by his daughter Karen Crenella Mazza and her husband Raymond, his grandson Jonathan Alexander Mazza; his brother John and sister in law Bernedette Crenella and a brother in law John Kassey and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Mario and his sister Hilda Kassey. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church 198 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association 5 Brookside Drive Wallingford, CT 06492.
