Obituary of Joseph Valitsky

Joseph J. Valitsky, Sr., 79, of Berlin, died Saturday Morning at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Born in Felltownship, PA, son of the late Alexander and Katherine Valitsky, he lived most of his life in Berlin. He and his wife Ann (Luby) Valitsky had just happily celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Joe had retired from the West Hartford Police Force, after 32 years. He was a member of the Korean War Veterans Chapter, serving in the 65th Army Infantry, a member of the American Legion, the VFW and had been awarded the Top Ranked Sharp Shooter Award from the West Hartford Police Revolver Club and was a member of St. Paul's Church. Mr Valitsky was a man of faith and cherished his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping and tag sales with his beloved wife, Ann. In addition to his wife Ann, Joe is survived by his children Joseph Valitsky Jr. and his wife Lorna of Plattsburgh, NY, Patrese Bielinski and her husband Steven of Kensington, Dawn Beaumier and her husband Robert of West Hartford,Victoria Harris and her husband Richard of Kensington; Nancy Miller and her husband Stephen of Bristol, Beth Turner and her husband Joseph of of Putney, VT and Andrea and her husband Stephen Schoech of Southington; his brother James Valitsky of Florida; 19 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Carolyn D'Amico and his brother Robert Valitsky. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Mass Wednesday (March21,2012) at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Church 485 Alling St. Kensington.
