Obituary of John H. Percival

Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

John Howard Percival (age 55) of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away on February 8, 2024. He was the beloved son of Kathleen (Heath) Percival and the late Dick J. Percival.

John was born September 27, 1968, in Hartford. He grew up in Kensington, moving to Indiana eight years ago, to be near Sue’s family. He began racing quarter midgets when he was five years old and enjoyed auto racing for the rest of his life.

John will be remembered for his contagious laugh and personality and his love for everyone around him.  Like his father he never met a stranger.

He is survived by his mother Kathleen of Kensington, his son Adam, wife Moesha and grandson Jaxson of Rocky Hill, his brothers Steven and wife Robin of Southington, Scott and wife Lisa of Avon, James and his wife Raeshelle of Southington, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his step granddaughter Aaliya Valentin, with whom he made his home. We are so grateful for her love and care of John.

John was predeceased by his father Dick and his beloved fiancé Sue.

Friends and family are invited to a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4 at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling Street Kensington. Burial will follow at the South Burying Ground, Kensington.
