Love W. Mendillo, 81, of New Britain, died Friday at home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late John and Tekla (Waida) Wallack, she was a life long resident. She was married to the late Vincent F. Mendillo, who died June 11, 1991. Early in her career, Love was an elementary teacher with the New Britain School System. She was a member of St. Maurice Church, where she served as a Minister of the Eucharist, and was a former member of the New Britain General Hospital Auxiliary and volunteer with the New Britain Museum of Art. Mrs. Mendillo is survived by her children Nancy Miller and her husband Ron of Yardley, PA, John Mendillo and his wife Janice of Branford, Jane Mendillo and her husband Ralph Earle of Concord, MA, Mark Mendillo of Mission Viejo, CA, and Lisa Kulhanek and her husband Paul of St. Paul, MN; nine grandchildren Ron Miller, Laura Di Santo, Sarah Mendillo, Anne Kulhanek, Victoria Kulhanek, Michael Kulhanek, Vincent Mendillo, Elizabeth Earle, and Thomas Earle; a great grandchild Cooper Miller; a brother Peter and his wife Katherine Wallack of Niantic and several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association 5 Brookside Drive Wallingford, CT 06492.
