Mary R. (Delaney) Bernabucci, 90, of New Britain, wife of the late Francis J. Bernabucci, to whom she was married for 52 wonderful years passed away peacefully on Oct. 9, 2012 at Ledgecrest Health Care. A life long resident of New Britain, born June 24, 1922, Mary was the daughter of the late William and Stella Delaney. A graduate of N.B.H.S., Mary worked at Stanley Works, retiring after 35 years of service. She was a member of St. Jerome Church in New Britain. Mary will always be remembered for her devotion to her family and her beautiful smile. She was loved by all who knew her. Mary had a love for animals, especially Santan, Skippy and Mindy. She was a remarkable baker. She was especially known for her famous apple pie. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she leaves behind her daughter Rosemarie Kroll and son-in-law Raymond Kroll of Berlin, two sons and daughters-in-law William and Sandra Bernabucci of Bristol, Robert and Chris Bernabucci of Unionville. She is also survived by her grandchildren Doreen Kroll, Michelle and her husband Dwayne LaFrance, William Bernabucci, Jr., Scott Bernabucci, Aleesha and Michael Bernabucci and two great grandchildren Ashley and Emma LaFrance and several nieces and nephews. Mary's family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Ledgecrest Health Care for their special care and kindness through the years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Jerome Church 1010 Slater Road New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 8:30 A.M. until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society 701 Russell Road Newington, CT 06111.
