Mary A. Ventura, 106, of New Britain, passed away Friday morning at Ledgecrest Health Care. Born in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late August and Mary Gomes. She lived in New Britain for many years and was employed at Landers Frary and Clark. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church.
Mary is survived by her daughter Dorothy Heckman and her husband Jim of Sothington, a son Leonard Ventura and his wife June of Old Saybrook, her brother William Ventura of Massachusetts; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren
Mary is predeceased by her husband Manuel Ventura, a son Richard Ventura and a grandson Lawrence Ventura.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Monday at 10:00 A.M. at St. John the Evangelist Church (Corner of East Street and Newington Ave) New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
