Salvatore Lacana, 76, born March 12 1936 , son of the late Sebastiano and Emanuela Lacana, died Monday night at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Priolo, Sicily, Italy, he raised his family in Toronto Ontario Canada for 12 years and than moved to Kensington Ct thirty years ago; and finally in his retirement life moved to his beloved beach home in Old Lyme. He began his career at Tilcon/Tomasso in Plainville and while accomplishing his master license in plumbing, heating and pipe welding and formed the Sal Lacana and Son Company. Sal is survived by his devoted wife Salvatricia (Fazzina) Lacana, his daughter Emanuela Rita and her husband Salvatore Imme of Middletown; his son Attilio and his wife Melanie Lacana , beloved grandchildren Elizabeth, Daniella, Joseph and Christian of Wethersfield, his brother Angelo Lacana of Priolo, Sicily, a sister Carmela Zammito of Rome and several nieces and nephews throughout the US and Italy. He was predeceased by two brothers Attilio Lacana and Santo Lacana. We want to send a special thanks to the aids that assisted with Dads care Yolanda, Robin and Larnette. Funeral services will be held Friday 9:00 A.M. from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Paul's Church Kensington. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
