Obituary of Barbara Gilbert

Barbara A. Gilbert, 85, of New Britain, died Thursday Night at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late James P. and Marie (Doherty) Gilbert, she was a lifelong resident. For twelve years, she was employed at Stanley Works and then spent twenty seven years at The Travelers Insurance Company. She was also a member of St. Maurice Church. Barbara is survived by her brother John and his wife Mary Gilbert of New Britain, a sister in law Janice Gilbert, her nieces and nephews Linda McKenna and her husband Bill, Nancy Byrne and her husband Guy, James Gilbert, Michael Gilbert, Bryan Gilbert, several cousins and a good friend Lisa Olson. She was predeceased by a brother, James P. Gilbert, Jr. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain.
