I was a neighbor of Caroline's for many years when we lived on Pleasant Street in Messina's house. Caroline was such a kind person and helped Mrs. Bleau so much. I have a lot of fond memories from times when Mrs. Bleau, Caroline, Alice Zysk and I would visit together on Mrs. Bleau's porch in the good weather. I had intended on having Caroline and Frances Sinkiewicz for lunch after I moved, but that never happened. So much for good intentions. I will remember Caroline with much fondness.

Fond memories while walking home from Aquinas of Caroline and Frances Sinkewitz (Mary Messina's mom). They were "two peas in a pod", laughing and talking to people. Caroline always smiling. Truly good friends. My condolences during this very difficult time.

Caroline was a treasure. Her sense of humor and dedicated friendship will be missed by our family. She had a smile as big as the sun.

Happy memories came floating back to me when reading Caroline's obituary in The Herald. I would deliver papers to her house, and she always asked about my family. I think that she lived into her 90's because of her walks. I would see her walking to the store, friends' house - the Messina's on Pleasant or simply a stroll around the block. She will be missed by me; I thought of her as a positive role model growing up on the east side of New Britain. I can only hope that her strength and wisdom will continue as I grow into my elder years.
