My sincere condolences on your loss of a great dad, and grandfather. He was an inspiration to me in elementary school. I was an out of control, hyperactive kid. with, what your dad, called a knack for getting into trouble. Having said that, Mr Moriarty will forever be in my fondest memories of those years. I can still remember him encouraging Mr Mercadante, the principal. To allow me to use my artistic abilities to create a Funny, but memorable large JAWS head and place it around the opening of the DRINKING Fountain near the schools Main Office. Then he took me out of class and stood in the hallway with his arm on my shoulder, as we watched both student and staff line up to take a drink in the Newly Designed "SHARK HEAD FOUNTAIN". Mr Moriarty was an example to the NB Sch System of what a great asset an involved and committed mentor and teacher could be. And what a difference he made in our lives everyday. My one regret is of learning of his passing this afternoon, thus missing the chance to say goodbye. May God Bless you and your loved ones. And may he strengthen you in this time of your loss. We are all better citizens and people for having him in our lives even if for a brief moment.

Lydia and family sorry to hear about Mr. M passing. He was a very special person in my life, i met him in fifth grade when i moved to New Britain. He always treated me with respect and fairness. Years later we were co-workers at Smalley and he also helped me with learning to work with children in all walks of life. I thought of him often fondly. He was one awesome teacher.
