Obituary of Irene K. Malcynsky

Irene K. (Presch) Malcynsky, 93, died Wednesday morning at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late John and Bridget Presch, she lived in New Britain and Old Saybrook her entire life. She was the wife of the late Frank Malcynsky. A member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Irene was well known for her love of the beach at Indiantown, her daily crossword puzzles, knitting, crocheting, cooking and listening to the New York Yankees and UCONN Girls basketball games.
Mrs. Malcynsky is survived by her children Barbara Vernacatola, widow of the late Raymond Vernacatola, of Kensington, Peggy Albert and her husband, Bill, of Old Saybrook, Frank (Corky) Malcynsky of New Britain and Christine LaRosa and her husband, Paul, of Kensington; her grandchildren Anthony Vernacatola and his wife, Janet, Bill Albert and his companion Charlene Fecteau, Cheryl Beal and her husband, Jeff, Marci Dower and her husband, Ken, Jason Albert and his wife Tabitha, Kathryn LaRosa, and Christopher LaRosa and his wife, Kate; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church, corner of East St. and Newington Ave. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Saturday from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society 701 Russell Road Newington, CT 06111. Irene's family would like to thank Dr. Othman El-Alami, and Nadia, for their years of care. They would also like to thank the wonderful staff of the ICU at the Hospital of Central CT. And a special thanks to Cathy Baretta and Ollie.
