Carol L. Costa, 91, formerly of New Britain, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.  She was the daughter of the late Stephen and Ethel LeHoskey and wife of the late Joseph M. Costa. Born and raised in Torrington, she attended local schools. Carol took many additional courses in bookkeeping and business administration.

Carol had a long career as a secretary serving both the medical and manufacturing industries.  Her greatest joy was raising her family and caring for her grandchildren. She was a great cook and wrote a cookbook of all family favorites. Carol loved history and was often found exploring cemeteries for the oldest gravestones.

Besides spending time with her family and friends Carol was an avid New York Yankees fan and UConn Woman’s basketball fan. Carol loved to read and spend time sitting on her porch in later years.

Carol is survived by her children, Donald and his wife Cathleen of Torrington, Cheryl Costa of New Britain, and Edward and his wife Karen of Waterbury, along with her daughter in law Wendy Costa of Woodstock. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephen, David, Robert (Heather), Caitlin (Chris) Daniel (Monica), Matthew (Amanda) and Carolyn. Along with her loving seven great grandchildren, Carol is survived by a nephew David McLaughlin and several nieces. Carol was predeceased by her husband Joseph, a son Thomas Costa, her brother Edward LeHoskey and sister Marjorie McLaughlin.

Funeral services for Carol will be held on Friday May 1st , with a visitation from 10-11:00am followed by a Service at 11:00am at the Farrell Funeral Home,110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley Street, New Britain.
