Brian Philip Stevens, 61, passed away January 9, 2026 at Hartford Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Brian was a devoted father, brother, grandfather and friend whose life was defined by his curiosity, craftsmanship, and kindness. He worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at Assa Abloy, where he was known not only for his technical skills and problem-solving ability, but for his willingness to help anyone who needed it. Brian took pride in supporting his “work family” and believed strongly in doing things the right way, guided by high morals and a deep sense of integrity.
Outside of work, Brian’s passions reflected his love of building and motion. He found joy in working on and driving his custom 1979 Malibu and 1994 Corvette, and could often be found riding roads on his bike, cycling alongside close friends. Whether it was a mechanical challenge or a life problem, Brian genuinely enjoyed figuring things out and helping others along the way.
Brian is survived by his sons Kevin & Nick (Kristin) Stevens; his stepsons Evan & Michael Greenwald, his beloved granddaughter Atlas, who brought him immense pride and joy. His siblings Lisa (Jay) Dumais, Greg & Doug Stevens; as well as many favorite cousins, and a circle of truly treasured friends. Brian was predeceased by his parents, Herbert Stevens and Betty Stevens.
Bri will be remembered for his presence and generosity with his time and knowledge, as well as the quiet kindness that shaped the way he lived and treated others. Brian’s legacy lives on in the people he helped, the problems he solved, and the values he passed on—kindness, honesty, and doing what is right.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 20th, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain.
