Remembering with Love

Rita T Violette entered eternal life on January 1, 2026, at the age of ninety-six. She was our favorite mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Rita was born on July 29, 1929, in Lille, ME to Joseph & Bernadette Therriault. She was the youngest daughter in her family and grew up with a strong spirit. She loved to dance and she also loved to shovel snow. She had a strong faith that she lived every day and was a longtime parishioner at St. Jerome Church in New Britain, CT. She was known for being kind, compassionate, and always there for family and friends.

Rita made a difference in many lives, just by being herself.She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Claude J Violette. She was also predeceased by her son, William H Violette. Rita leaves behind four sons. David and Nikki Violette, James and Loretta Violette, Patrick Violette, and Steven and Nancy Violette. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; Kylee Violette, Luke and Katie Violette, Sarah and Nick Fliss, Noah Violette, Michael and Gia Violette, James Violette and Anna Violette as well as six great-grandchildren; Liam Violette, Maverick Fliss, Dominic Fliss, Delilah Fliss, Isla Violette, and Miles Violette. She joins all her siblings; Fr. Herman, Fr. Edgar, Sr Bernadette, Aurora Grandmaison, Ida Therriault, Corrine Allard, Eugene Therriault, Claude Therriault, and Joe (Camille) Therriault who all passed before her. She also leaves behind a host of nephews and nieces.

Funeral services for Rita will be held on January 8, 2026 with a visitation from 9:00 -10:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home,110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30AM at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Rd. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St.
