Adrien G. Leclerc Obituary

Adrien G. Leclerc, 96, of New Britain, passed away on Monday (Oct. 27, 2025) at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor in New Britain with his family by his side. Adrien was born in Bristol, the son of the late Francois and Azilda Leclerc. He lived in Canada and became a New Britain resident as a teenager. He graduated from St. Mary’s School and E.C. Goodwin Technical School in New Britain and began a long career with Mallory Industries in Farmington. He enlisted in the Army in 1945, serving in Japan, the Philippines, and Okinawa. After his Honorable Discharge, he returned to active duty, serving in Korea until 1951.


An active member of St. Jean the Baptiste Society, Adrien served as Director, Chaplain, First Vice President, and President. He was a member and past Post Commander of the Franco American War Veterans, member of the poilus and installed as poirot, past president of the French Businessmen Association, and was still active in its yearly scholarship golf tournament. Adrien also served on the Veteran’s Commission twice as chairman. He was Chairman for St. Jean’s 1500 Club and Co-chairman of their Clambake. He was honored as Frenchman of the Year at the Elks #957. He also held office and/or was a member of the French Model Council, American Legion Post #6, French Group Retreat League, and Franco American Scholarship Fund.


Adrien is predeceased by his wife, Rita (Michaud) Leclerc, and his siblings, Lorette Simic, Roland Leclerc, Claude Leclerc, and Monique Ferris. Adrien is survived by his children, Gary Leclerc, and his wife, Lisa Leclerc of New Britain; Michel Leclerc of New Britain; Laura Reska, and her husband, David Reska of Colchester; a granddaughter, Jessica; two great grandchildren, Stella and Leo; and several nieces and nephews.


Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday (Nov. 5, 2025) at 10:30 AM at St. Maurice Church, 100 Wightman Road, New Britain. Military Honors will be rendered immediately following the Mass. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain, will be private. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
