Adrienne Daigle, 87, of New Britain, passed away on October 12 at Avery Heights of Hartford. Born and raised in Fort Kent, ME, Adrienne was the loving daughter of the late Emile and Rose (Leferierre) Daigle. After graduating high school, she moved to New Britain at the age of 18, when she began a new chapter in life. Over the years, Adrienne held a variety of jobs, concluding her career at Mickey Finns in Berlin.
Soon after moving to New Britain, Adrienne met her amazing husband of 65 years, Lucien, who predeceased her. Together, they built a beautiful family and home filled with love, laughter, and strong values. Adrienne instilled in her children the importance of hard work, kindness, and devotion to family!
Adrienne’s greatest love was being a mother and grandmother and cherished every moment spent with loved ones. She loved hosting family and friends for dinners, parties, and every holiday – her door was always open, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand! Her talents were endless: she was a fabulous cook and hairdresser, and excelled at sewing, knitting, crocheting, gardening, canning, and tackling home improvement projects with enthusiasm. She also loved time spent with others—whether surrounded by family and friends’ playing cards or games, adventures with her sisters, camping, dancing, or planning parties and reunions. Adrienne was truly the “Social Event Planner”, with a gift for making everyone feel welcomed, loved, and included.
Adrienne is survived by her four children and their spouses: Garry and Joan (Diskin), Jim and Sandy (Lagasse), Patti and John D’Onofrio, and Jason and Lorraine (Moody); nine grandchildren: Victoria and Garrett Daigle, Amy (Daigle) Lambeck, Kerry, Cody, and Riley Daigle, Michael and Tyler D’Onofrio, and Caleb Daigle; and seven great grandchildren.
One of thirteen children, Adrienne is also survived by her sister, Loretta Voghel of Waterbury and was predeceased by her siblings Laura, Wallace, Juliette, Homer, Doris, Theresa, Paul, Rod, Irene, Pat and Gil.
