Nova Kendrick (born Paul Marshall Kendrick), 21, died on Aug. 10, 2025 in Berlin, CT after a long battle with mental illness.

Nova was born on Apr. 23, 2004 in Roseville, CA to Marshall and Lori (Montana) Kendrick. 

Nova was 2022 graduate of Berlin High School, a National Merit scholar, an Eagle Scout, an accomplished musician, and a Halo award winning performer. Nova enjoyed being outdoors in nature and could frequently be found fishing, gardening, birdwatching, longboarding, or unicycling. They felt deeply, loved fiercely, and were distressed by the many injustices of the world. 

They are survived by their mother, Lori Kendrick and her partner Sousa Williams; siblings Caroline and Theo; grandmother Constance Kendrick; extended family and friends; and their pet axolotl, Tumbado. They are preceded in death by their father, Marshall Kendrick; grandparents Bob and Carol Montana; and grandfather, Oliver Kendrick.

Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday August 21st at 10:00am directly at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling St. Berlin. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St. New Britain.
