Janet L. Linnon Obituary

Janet L. Linnon (Lemelin), 84, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025.  Born in New Britain, Janet was the daughter of the late Odilon and Marie Anne (Tremblay) Lemelin.  Janet shared 63 years of marriage with her husband, Michael.  Janet was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses (twin Juliet Lemelin, Joseph Auclair, Rita and Donald Masselle, Roger and Geri Lemelin and Maurice and Shirley Lemelin), and many relatives and friends.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and William Ralph Jr. and Donna and Marc Criniti, both of Berlin.  A proud and loving grandmother to Brandon and Ashley Ralph, Lauren Criniti and fiancé Greg Thomas, Cameron Criniti and fiancée Taylor Gordon and Tyler Ralph, she enjoyed attending their sporting events and hosting weekend sleepovers and adventures.  She was a proud great-grandmother to Henry and Charlie Ralph.  She is survived by her sister, Theresa Auclair, with whom she shared a lifelong bond of love and memories, in addition to many nieces and nephews.  Each held a special place in her heart and will miss her dearly.

Upon retiring from UConn Health, Janet and Michael spent their years between Kensington and Vero Beach, Florida. A longtime parishioner of St. Paul’s Parish, she lived her faith quietly and deeply, offering kindness, compassion and grace to those around her. One of the many hobbies she enjoyed, for over 20 years, was playing golf with the Timberlin Lady Niners, where she formed lasting friendships. A passionate and competitive card and game player, Janet enjoyed participating in weekly Mahjong games at the Berlin Senior Center and cherished the camaraderie amongst the players.  During retirement, she found joy in volunteering at The Bushnell and square dancing with friends.

We are deeply grateful to all of Janet’s caregivers for the compassionate care and unwavering support they provided over the years.

Funeral service for Janet will be held Thursday Aug 7th at 11:30 am directly at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling St. Berlin. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St.

In lieu of flowers, Janet’s family requests donations be made to St. Paul Parish or School, Kensington, CT.
