Helen Katherine (Pietras) Lynch, 97, died on Friday (July 25, 2025) at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor, in New Britain. She was born March 29, 1928, in New Britain, CT, the daughter of Peter and Josephine (Maj) Pietras. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Edward F. Lynch, with whom she shared 49 years of marriage, until his passing in 2005.

Helen was known for her practical nature, dedication to family, and quiet strength. She was a lifelong resident of New Britain where she graduated from Sacred Heart School, New Britain High School, and New Britain General Hospital School of Nursing in 1949, practicing as a Registered Nurse for several years. She was employed by New Britain General Hospital, aka "The General," Monsignor Bojnowski Manor, and a local hospital in Miami, FL, where she served patients with skill and compassion.

Helen is survived by her two daughters, Margaret and her husband James Bazzano of Plymouth, MA and Katherine and her husband John McGeever of Kensington, CT; and three sons, Michael and his wife Colleen of Kensington, CT, Edward and his wife Maureen of Barnstable, MA and Timothy and his wife Sally of West Hartford, CT.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Michael Bazzano, Alexandra and her husband Michael Smith, Beatrice and her husband Conor Finn, Josephine Lynch and fiancé Walter McKenna, Francesca Lynch, Jack Lynch, Daniel Lynch, Robert Lynch, John McGeever, and Clare McGeever; two great grandchildren, Michael (Teddy) Smith and Quinn Smith; her sister, Lorraine Franko of New Britain; sister-in-law Claire Pietras of New Britain; and several nieces and nephews.

Helen was predeceased by her sister, Joan Raducha, two brothers, Chester Pietras and Stanley Pietras, and grandson, Peter Lynch.

Helen will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to family and her lifetime of service to others.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 31 from 8:30 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. at Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain with a mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St Paul's Church, Kensington, CT. Burial will follow in St Mary Cemetery, New Britain.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monsignor Bojnowski Manor, 50 Pulaski St, New Britain, CT where Helen was very well cared for these past two years.
