Jakob Koch, 81, of New Britain passed away July 10, 2025 at home. He was born on October 16, 1943 in Ukraine to the late Franz and Anna (Seelinger) Koch. He immigrated to the United States in 1952. He retired from Travelers Insurance as a systems analyst. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church, president of the St. Peter’s Society and Franklin Square Preservation Society. He was an avid duckpin bowler.
He is survived by his former wife, Pamela Cayward, his three children Jessica Koch of East Granby, Kristin (Koch) and Bob Simeone of Punta Gorda, FL, and Joseph and Christine Koch of Stratford; four grandchildren Justin Simeone, Victoria Simeone, Chloe and Sebastion Maces, and Jasmine Koch; and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Maria Frank, Franz Koch, and Erwin Koch and many nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may join the family from 8:30 – 9:30 on Monday July 21, 2025 at Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain, CT 06051 a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be privately held at a later date. The funeral mass will be live streamed, please visit www.FarrellFuneralHome.com at 10am.
