Peter D. Shackford Sr., 80, of New Britain passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.  Born in Lewiston, Maine, he was the son of the late Clyde & Frances (Merril) Shackford, He attended local schools. Peter was known as a hardworking man he spent over 40 years working at Manafort Brothers Inc.  Besides being a devoted father and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his dog Cosmo, trying his luck at lotto, and keeping his vehicles clean.

Peter is survived by his children Peter Jr. and his wife Jennifer Shackford of Berlin, Christina Shackford of Vernon, and Halima Noor of Philadelphia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jonah, Mason, Lyla, Ryan, Rose, Damien, Aminah, and Yusuf. He is also survived by his three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services for Peter will be held Friday (July 18, 2025) with a visitation from 5:00 – 7:00 PM and  a Prayer Service at 7PM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain CT.
