Gladys A. Hartnett, 103, of Mount Vernon, NY, formerly of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 29 in Mount Vernon, New York. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late William J. and Lillian (Ronalter) Hartnett, she lived most of her life in New Britain moving to Mt. Vernon,  NY several  years ago.  A graduate of New Britain High School,  she attended Ohio University and the University of Hartford and had been employed for many years at Northeast Utilities retiring in 1985. She was a member of St. Jerome Church, was a Literacy Volunteer and a volunteer at Jefferson School.

Gladys is survived by several nieces and nephews including Kristen and her husband Paul Schulz and their daughters  Catherine and Heather and their families; Patricia Fleming and  family, Douglas  Wenk and  family, Frederick  Wenk  and family and Stephen Wenk and his family.

Funeral Services for Gladys will be held Wednesday  (July 9, 2025)  with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Road New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St. New Britain.  Visitation will be Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
