
Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Fumiatti
Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Fumiatti, 88, of New Britain, died Saturday (June 28, 2025) at the Jerome Home in New Britain. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Joseph and Ann (Hlavati) Koval, she lived in Bristol for 30 years, returning to New Britain three years ago. She was the widow of Victor F. Fumiatti.
Betty graduated from Mary Immaculate Academy and the University of Connecticut School of Nursing. She had a long career with the Visiting Nurse Association of New Britain, where she served as Executive Director. She was involved with numerous charitable organizations, including the New Britain Rotary where she served as President, and the Board of Directors at the Hospital of Special Care. Along with her husband, she established The Vic and Betty Fumiatti Scholarship for graduating seniors from E.C. Goodwin Technical School. In 2014, Vic and Betty received the Distinguished Service Award from the New Britain Chamber of Commerce and in 2009, they received the Celebrate New Britain Award.
Betty is survived by her sister Joanne and her husband Steven Chatlas of Berlin. In addition to her husband, Vic, she was predeceased by her brother Thomas Koval.
Funeral services will be Wednesday July 16, 2025 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St Matthews Church 120 Church Ave. Forestville, CT. Burial will be private. Visitation will be Tuesday (July 15. 2025) from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
