1956 - 2025

Michael Kelly Mele, 69, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on June 24, 2025.

Born in New Britain, Connecticut, Michael was the beloved son of Eustace M. Mele and Winifred (Kelly) Mele. He leaves behind his sister, Kate Mele of Riverside, Rhode Island, and many cherished friends from Connecticut Midstate Arc and Rhode Island.

Michael was known for his kind spirit, unwavering optimism, and deep sense of community. He spent his life enriching the lives of others through his warmth and humor, creating lasting bonds with those fortunate enough to know him. Whether in his hometown or among his friends in Rhode Island, Michael's presence was a source of joy and comfort to many.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on July 8, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St. New Britain at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St. New Britain. Those who wish to commemorate Michael are encouraged to consider making a donation in his name to Connecticut Midstate Arc, reflecting his lifelong connection to this meaningful organization.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love and light he brought into the world.
