
Obituary of G. Jaye Tormay
G. Jaye Tormay, 96, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Carmelina Gagliardi.
Jaye was a lifelong member of St. Jerome Church, where she volunteered her time for many functions for the church. In her early years, she worked as a dental assistant, but her greatest dedication was to her family as a devoted wife and mother.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John "Jack" Tormay, who passed away in 2012.
Jaye is survived by her two sons: Jack A. Tormay and his wife Beth of Canton, CT, and Jay C. Tormay and his wife Patty of Plantsville, CT. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Kevin (Maria), Joseph (Meghan), Bonnie (Sawyer), and Kimberly (Sam), as well as four beloved great-grandchildren—Madison, Colton, Miles, and Curren—and a fifth one on the way, Clara.
She is also survived by her brother, Charles Gagliardi of West Hartford, and her sister, Joyce Mariano of New Britain, along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Pamela Becker.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Southington Care Center for their compassionate care of Jaye.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 11.Visitation will take place from 9-10AM at Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30AM at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Road, New Britain. Entombment will be at St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley Street, New Britain.
