Nicholas D. Criniti Obituary

Nicholas D. Criniti, beloved husband, father, grandfather and veteran passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025.


He was born on March 20, 1936 to the late Dominick and Concetta (Scranci) Criniti. Upon their early passing he was welcomed into the home of his aunt and uncle Salvatore and Catherine Criniti to whom he was eternally grateful.


Nick was predeceased by the love of his life Carolyn (D’Addabbo) Criniti whom he was married to for more than 49 years and his youngest son Donald Criniti.


He is survived by his sons Michael Criniti and his partner Susan Solek of Tolland and Marc Criniti and his wife Donna of Berlin. He was also predeceased by a sister, Anne Kerin and brother Joseph Criniti, along with daughters-in-law Colleen Criniti and Nancy Criniti. There was always a special place in his heart for his stepsiblings Rose DeFrancesco, Joseph Criniti and Dominic Criniti and brother-in-law Vincent D’Addabbo who had passed on before him. He is also survived by Sisters-in-law Esther Criniti and Mary Criniti.


A devoted and loyal family man papa leaves a wealth of cherished memories to his treasured grandchildren; Ashley, Michael, Lauren, Cameron and Nicholas and great grandson Brayden, and many beloved nieces and nephews.


He found great pride in being a partner in the Lori Lock Corporation in Southington, CT where he retired from. Always eager to lend a helping hand Nick leaves reminders of his handy work in the homes of many family members and friends.


He will be deeply missed, but forever remembered, by those whose lives he touched.


The Criniti family would like to thank all of his caregivers over the past few years for all of their selfless help.


Funeral service for Nick will be held Tuesday May 27th with a visitation from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30AM at St. Paul Church, 485 Alling St. Berlin. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Maple Cemetery, 1164 Worthington Ridge, Berlin.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association 200 Executive Blvd. Southington, CT 06489.
