Terry Ann Arburr Obituary

Terry Ann Arburr, 75, of New Britain, Connecticut, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut.  Born on February 6, 1950, she was the youngest daughter of Frank (Hank) and Mary (Hudak) Arburr.


She graduated from Central Connecticut State University with her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education and taught in the New Britain Public School system at Elihu Burritt, Pulaski, Slade, and Gaffney Schools.  She was also on the negotiating team for the New Britain Federation of Teachers.   She was a member of the "Circle Nine Teachers," and the "Burritt Beauties."  Additionally, she was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.


Terry loved cats, sunflowers, casino trips, and celebrating the traditional Slovak Christmas Eve with her family.


She is survived by her nephews, Don Ascare and his wife, Diane, and their children Anthony and Alyssa, Michael Arburr and his wife, Andrea, and their children Dana and Noah, David Arburr and his wife, Sandra, and their son, Nathan, and other nephews and cousins.


She was predeceased by her sisters, Joan Arburr and Gail Ascare, and her brothers, Peter Arburr and Francis Arburr.  To all her loyal friends and her caregivers at Monsignor Bojnowski Manor, the family extends a heartfelt THANK YOU.


Visitation will be Thursday, May 22, from 5-7 pm at Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain.  Funeral services will begin on Friday, May 23, at 9:30 am at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Ann's Church, 114 North Street, New Britain. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery, New Britain.  Terry will be interred along with her sister, Gail, who passed in October.
