Obituary of Emily Guzzi
On May 9th, Emily began her last journey. She was my loving mother, an amazing grandmother and great grandmother, a sister, aunt and friend to many. She was born Emily Lydia to Giovanni and Alice Ottavi on April 28, 1929. Emily was predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings, Victor, Barney and Bobby Quinta, Eleanor and Lillian.
She leaves me, her loving daughter Sandy, her amazing grandsons Eric and Greg, and his wife Liz, and her pride and joy, her great grandson Cole.
Mom was a seamstress in a sewing factory for over 35 yrs. After she retired, she found herself bored. Looking for something to do, she became a “domestic engineer”. She took pride in helping families keep their homes in order. Emily decided to retire the vacuum cleaner and mops at age 90.
Mom wasn’t all work. She was a champion bowler and was out 2 or 3 nights a week on leagues. She enjoyed the camaraderie of team play and won often. Her greatest passion was dancing. On Friday or Saturday nights she would make the trek to New York to dance the night away at Roseland. Now I imagine mom is dancing with the angels. We love you and will miss you. You may say goodbye to her from 10 to 11a.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square, New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Dementia Society of America, PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901. To leave a condolence, please visit www.FarrellFuneralHome.com
