Obituary of Eileen Arciprete
Eileen (Patrina) Arciprete, 93, of New Britain, wife of the late Ernest Arciprete, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, April 26, 2025, following a courageous 28-year battle with cancer.
Born in the South Bronx, New York City, on November 17, 1931, she was the loving daughter of the late Nicholas and Marion (Marshall) Patrina, and sister to her beloved older brother Joseph A. Patrina. Eileen spent her early life surrounded by family and friends in Long Beach and Jackson Heights, NY. She graduated from William Cullen Bryant High School in Long Island City.
Shortly after graduation, her best friend, Cathy Woodhead Papacosta, introduced her to Ernest Arciprete. Sparks flew and they married within a year. The young couple settled in Island Park, NY where Eileen was a devoted stay-at-home mother to their daughters, Gail and Diane. In 1956, they moved to North Babylon, NY where their son, William, was born, and later to Fairfield, CT in 1966, where they made their home for 50 years.
Eileen enjoyed a successful 25-year career as an award-winning Avon representative. She also worked for 15 years as a licensing agent at Life Plans Unlimited in Fairfield until her retirement. She and Ernie travelled extensively with her brother, Joe and sister-in-law Mary Lou, visiting Italy, Mexico, Bermuda, Montserrat, and California.
Eileen is survived by her loving family: her daughter Gail and husband Vincent Pagano of New Britain, with whom she made her home for the past decade, her son William (Jason); grandchildren Vincent (Melissa) Pagano, Michael (Amanda) Pagano, and Ashley (Carlos) Carmo; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Bella, and Nico. She is also survived by her daughter, Diane (Donald) Latella; grandchildren, Heather and Elizabeth; and great-grandchildren, Mia, Holly, Violet, and Layla. She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Patrina and sister-in-law, Mary Lou Patrina.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Vitas Healthcare for their compassionate support during Eileen’s final days.
Farrell Funeral Home has been entrusted with her care. There will be no calling hours. A private family service and burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
