Obituary of Elaine D. Aiudi
Elaine M. (Dupuis) Aiudi, 95, of New Britain died Saturday (April 5, 2025) at home. Born in Montpelier, VT, the daughter of the late Antoine and Blanche (Bussiere) Dupuis, she lived in New Britain for many years. She spent her summers at her beloved beach house in Westbrook. She was the wife of the late Elmo R. Aiudi, (who died Aug. 6, 2022). Elaine was a member of St. Maurice Church, a long time advocate for C.C.A.R.C. in New Britain, and a volunteer at the Little Flock School of St. Maurice Church.
Elaine loved summering in Westbrook. She cherished her beach days swimming, lobstering, taking long walks along the shoreline, and planting and tending to her flower gardens and tomato plants. She made and maintained many long friendships within her beach community.
She was one of the early supporters of CCARC, New Britain, an organization that provides services for and awareness of special needs children, becoming a fierce advocate for her daughter for the rest of Lauren’s life.
Elaine was the soul of our family; our north star. She was a devout Catholic and her faith was unwavering. The greatest gift she imparted to her family was her deep faith and her love for Jesus.
Elaine is survived by her children, Sandy and her husband Paul DiVincenzo, Steven and his wife, Karen Aiudi, David Aiudi, Pamela and her husband Gene Genarelli, Christopher and his wife Barbara Aiudi, Janice Strasser, Alison and her husband, Thomas Stula, former daughter in law Linda Aiudi; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lauren Aiudi, her son- in- law Kevin Strasser, and her sister, Barbara Wells.
Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday (April 10th) 10:30 AM at St. Maurice Church 100 Wightman Road New Britain. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CCARC, Inc. 950 Slater Road New Britain, CT 06053.
