John Luciw Obituary

John Luciw, 71, of Plainville passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 2, 2025. Born in New Britain he was the son of the late William and Mary (Kluka) Luciw. He lived most of his life in New Britain, attended local schools and was a parishioner at St. Josphat Ukrainian Church with his family. He was a long time employee at CITGO Petroleum as a security guard. John was an avid pool and racquetball player and enjoyed playing with his late brother and cousins. John will always be remembered as a hardworking, loyal, and caring man.


John is survived by his sister Anna Luciw of Rocky Hill; along with many cousins and friends. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Michael Luciw.


Funeral services with Panakhyda for John will be held Friday ( March 14, 2025) at 11:00 AM led by Rev. Stephan Bereza at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley Street.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Josphat Church, 303 Eddy Glover Blvd New Britain CT 06053.
