Francelina graduated from New Britain High School and was employed by the local phone company and The Fafnir Bearing Company. She was a doting wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was a compassionate and devoted advocate for her family members and anyone in need. She enjoyed meticulously tending to her flower gardens, baking cookies and pizzelles to share with loved ones, watching UCONN Women’s basketball games, and camping with her family at the Roaring Brook Campground in Stafford Springs.

Francelina is survived by her sisters Diolinda Boscarino and Leanor Main; her four sons and their families: James Mazzatto, Jr., his wife Patricia, and their sons Eric, Christopher, (fiancé Lindsey McMahon), and Nicholas (Sarah) Mazzatto; Robert Mazzatto, his wife Jeanette, and their daughters Nicole (Michael) Silverio and Jessica (Garrett) Mellon; Michael Mazzatto, his wife Maureen, and their children Matthew and Meghan Mazzatto; and William Mazzatto, his wife Diane, and their children Andrew and Emily Mazzatto. Francelina was also blessed with six great-grandchildren: Weston, Wyatt and Hudson Mellon; Drew and Gianna Silverio and Colton Mazzatto; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Besides her parents and husband, Fran was predeceased by her granddaughter, Charlotte Mazzatto, and her four siblings Alexandrina, Hilda, Isabel and Antonio.

Francelina’s funeral service will begin with visitation on Tuesday, February 18th, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square in New Britain. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of the Holy Spirit, 183 Church Street in Newington. Burial will immediately follow at the State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Lane in Middletown, where Francelina will be joined again with her late husband, Jim.
