Obituary of Sylvie E. Tardif
Sylvie E Tardif, 61, of Bristol, died Saturday (February 1, 2025) at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Canada, the daughter of Huguette Veilleux and the late Fernand Tardif, who died Monday (Jan. 27, 2025). Sylvie lived in Bristol for the last 8 years with her wife, Dee Pliska.
Sylvie had a passion for gardening and was especially proud of the garlic she grew. She loved kayaking and camping with her best friend Chris. She enjoyed playing setback and always looking for that perfect something at a tag sale. Little could compare to the time she spent with her fur babies, Calley, Tuxy and Sassy.
Her life and love were centered around her family and friends. She was a beacon of strength, facing life’s challenges with grace and determination. It was that strength that aided her in caring so compassionately for her late father, Fernand.
She had a heart of gold and brought light into the lives of everyone she met. She worked for Custom Metal Crafters in Newington and at the Home Depot in Plantsville. She is survived by her wife, Dee Pliska, her brothers Marco and his wife Michele, Steve Tardif; her brothers-in law Rick Pliska, Frank Pliska, and Ryan and his wife Yolanda Pliska; a nephew Cooper Tardif, two nieces Jessica Portis and Kaitlyn and her husband Tom Carey.
Funeral services for Sylvie and her father, Fernand, will be held on Saturday February 22, 2025, at 1pm. Calling hour will precede the service from 12-1pm at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Square. New Britain. Burial will be private.
