Obituary of Robert J. Quarti

Robert J. Quarti, 88, of Berlin, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 2, 2025. He was born in New Britain, the son of the late Louis and Elsie (Kogelman) Quarti. 

Bob graduated from New Britain High School class of 1954 and earned a Bachelors and Masters Degree from the University of Hartford.  He joined the Marine Corps and served from 1956 to 1958.  Bob began his career with the State of Connecticut in 1964 where he worked for over 31 years.  He was an active member of the Marine Corp League, the Austrian Donau Club, the B.P.O. Elks 957 and the Knights of Columbus Daly Council #12.

A devoted Catholic and active member of St Peter's Church, Bob was known for his unwavering faith, kindness, and generous spirit. Bob is survived by his daughters Maria Malone, Kristina and her husband Robert DuMouchel, Jr., Kathy Q. Davis, Susan Quarti and her partner David; his son Robert and his wife Elena Quarti, and their late mother Loretta Sarra; his six grandchildren Zakary, Jake, Erik, Antonio, Vincenzo, and Sean; his sister, Linda Vanty; several nieces and nephews.  He will be dearly missed by his beloved dog, Buddy, and all who knew him.

Friends and family are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday (Feb. 6, 2025) at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 195 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq., New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Protectors of Animal Shelter, East Hartford, poainc.org or Newington Humane Society.
