Obituary of Michael C. Charlow

Michael C. Charlow, 69, of Glen Cove, New York, died Thursday (June 27, 2013) in Glen Cove. Born in New Britain, CT, the son of the late Charles and Irene (Baretta) Charlow, he graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School, C.W. Post University and Cornell University. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1970. He became a Respiratory Therapist and worked for the Glen Cove Hospital for 25 years. For many years, Michael played in various baseball leagues in the Glen Cove area and was a member of "the Gallon Club" of the New York Blood Center. He was an avid Red Sox fan, Fantasy Baseball player and winner, coin collector and was known among his friends and family for his Peanuts character gifts and wry sense of humor. Michael is survived by his sister Patti and her husband Jan Rosinski of Harwinton, CT, his nieces Jessi Rosinski and Jocelyn Jensen, her husband Craig and their son Owen. He was also "Uncle Mike" to Colleen Raynor and Jessica Sturdivant. He leaves a dear friend, Leslie Raynor, who provided generous care and support during his illness. He is also survived by several cousins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Joseph's Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass, at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
