Carl J. Ginotti, Sr., 95, of New Britain, died Friday March 22, 2013, at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, son of the late Gioacchino and Giuseppina (Salena) Ginotti , he was a life long resident. He was one of the first to graduate from E.C.Goodwin Technical School and was a tool & die maker. Along with his wife Lillian, he owned and operated Paul's Delicatessen on West Main St. in New Britain for many years retiring in 1981. He belonged to the YMCA, where he enjoyed swimming, and was a member of the Italian Fraternity Society. After retirement, he loved to travel and spend time at his summer home in Niantic.. Mr. Ginotti is survived by his wife Lillian (Facchini) Ginotti and their children Carl Ginotti, Jr. and his wife Kathy of Berlin, Paul Ginotti and his wife Janice of Stamford, Nancy Rashaw and her husband Mark of New Britain and Regina Ginotti and her partner Lyn Channey of West Hartford; a grandson Nicholas Ginotti; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Vivian Ginotti and a brother Adrien Ginotti. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 am at The Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ledgecrest Heathcare 154 Kensington Road Kensington, CT 06037 or to Apple Rehab 156 Berlin Road Cromwell, CT 06416.The Ginotti family would like to thank the staff at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain, Ledgecrest Healthcare, and Apple Rehab for all their care and concern for Carl.
