I am with such a heavy heart to hear about Mr. Smith’s passing. He was not only a phenomenal math teacher but could relate so well to kids. He was looked up to and everyone loved him. I remember how much he helped me when I was going through some very tough times. I graduated in 1993 and years later my niece had him as a teacher as well and always came home to tell me that ‘Mr. Smith’ says hello. I remember his laugh and positive outlook on everything in life. He was truly a mentor, counselor and wonderful teacher. He will be missed terribly ❤️

I am so sad to hear this news. Mr. Smith was a wonderful teacher. He is one of the few that I have vivid memories of 36 years following my high school graduation. He was always kind and engaged. I'm happy to see that he never lost his enthusiasm. It warmed my heart to see his recent picture and remember him from the 80s. Thank you for all of your years of inspiring students

I would like to extend my sincerest condolences to Mr Smith's family and friends. Mr Smith has always been my favorite teacher, he taught me more than math, he taught me responsibility from day one my freshman year in high school. he was our class advisor, frankly he was a big part of why our class was so great. I hope knowing how many people's lives he truly impacted and touched can bring some peace in this difficult time.
