Obituary of Jeffrey L. Dutkiewicz

It is with our heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Jeffrey Louis Dutkiewicz.  On April 1st, at the age of 55, Jeff unexpectedly passed away while in the arms of his loving wife, Tricia.  Born in Meriden, and long-time resident of Berlin, Jeffrey was loved by many.  His passions ranged from hunting, golfing, and card-playing, but he enjoyed spending time with family and friends most.  Jeff had the biggest heart and could always put a smile on your face.  He graduated from Berlin High School and was currently working with the State of Connecticut’s Department of Transportation.  He married his soul mate Tricia (Peterson) in June 1986 and shortly after, welcomed two beautiful children, Eric and Alyssa.  He was so proud of both children and always spoke of their many accomplishments.  His selflessness and unconditional love for family will be cherished forever.

He is survived by his siblings Butch (Mary-Ellen) Dutkiewicz of Berlin, sisters Linda (Gill) Thibault of Berlin, and Eloise Danko of Southington. He leaves behind his best friend and soul mate Tricia and his two children Eric (fiancé Cassie) Dutkiewicz of Boston, MA and TSgt Alyssa Dutkiewicz of Beavercreek, OH.  He also leaves behind several nieces and a nephew, great-nieces and nephews, and specifically his two godsons Zachary Edwards and Westall Grenier. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Marion Dutkiewicz of Berlin, and sister Betsy LePage.

A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held Thursday (April 5^th) at 12:00 PM at the Farrell Funeral Home, 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00- 12:00 PM. Burial will be held privately at Maple Cemetery, Berlin.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Connecticut Humane Society 701 Russell Rd, Newington, CT 06111. The family would like to thank the Farrell Funeral Home, Berlin Police, Fire, and Rescue Departments, the care from New Britain General personnel, and all family and friends for all the efforts, care, support, and kind words on behalf of Jeffrey.
