Obituary of Francis N. Giorgetti

Francis N. 'Chet' Giorgetti, 100, of New Britain, died February 22, 2017 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in Italy, he came to Bristol as a child, grew up there, and lived most of his adult life in New Britain. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army. He retired after 42 years at the Hartford Courant, as Circulation Manager. In retirement he took up painting, and square dancing, traveled, helped both his children build their houses, among many activities - he was a busy guy! A very involved member of St. John the Evangelist Church, he also belonged to the Catholic War Veterans and was a volunteer at the Hospital of Central CT for many years. He received a number of awards for his volunteerism.
Chet was predeceased by his wife Marjorie (Brand) Giorgetti and daughter Carol Giorgetti (husband Chuck Bugden). He is survived by his son Mark Giorgetti of East Hampton, two grandsons, Andrew Giorgetti and Ethan Giorgetti, a special friend, Millie Arena, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday (Feb. 28, 2017) 9:00 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Church 655 East St. New Britain at 10:00 AM . Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
