Mary (Passamano) Shutran, 96, of New Britain, died Wednesday (Dec. 21, 2016) at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late Sebastian and Carmella Passamano, she was a lifelong resident. She was the wife of the late Stephen Shutran. During her career, Mary worked at Fafnir Bearing Co., several department stores in New Britain and later worked at the Aetna. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church, the Ladies Guild of St. Ann’s and volunteered at New Britain General Hospital. Mrs. Shutran is survived by her son Richard Shutran and his wife, Linda Nussbaum of New York, two grandsons, Max Shutran and Zack Shutran; several nieces and nephews including Anthony and his wife Geraldine Zimmitti, and Joseph and his wife Josephine Zimmitti . She was predeceased by her son Robert Shutran and her sisters Josephine Zimmitti and Ann Passamano. Funeral services will be held Friday (Dec. 23, 2016) with a Mass at 10:30 AM at St. Ann’s Church North St. New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain.
