Obituary of Vincenza S. Aloschi

Please share a memory of Vincenza to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vincenza S. (Lombardo) Aloschi passed into eternal rest on November 15, 2016 after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Sebastiano Aloschi who passed on January 1, 2005. The daughter of the late Vincenzo and Antonina (Uccello) Lombardo, she was born in Barce, Libya on March 13, 1930, and later moved to Sicily with her family during the Second World War. She emigrated to the US in June, 1957. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will always be remembered for her incredible Sunday meatballs and sauce and her lasagna. No one could cook a Thanksgiving dinner like she could! Her gravy was outstanding. Mom was quite talented with the needle and thread. She embroidered the most beautiful linens which she shared with her family. She spent many hours sitting in her spot on the sofa with her sewing basket hemming pants and repairing clothes or knitting warm afghans for her family. What we will always remember is her love and devotion to all of us. She not only kept us fed and well-dressed but she played with her children and grandchildren and read to us. Every person she knew can tell you how she lovingly took care of Dad through the many years of his illness. She leaves her two daughters and their husbands, Vita and James Veronesi of Berlin and Lucy and Michael Cremese of Southington and three grandchildren, Daniel Veronesi and his wife Katie, David Veronesi and Ethan Cremese. She was predeceased by two sisters, a brother and many cousins. Funeral services will be held Friday (Nov 18, 2016) 10:30 AM from the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq. New Britain, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church 1755 Stanley St New Britain. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, New Britain. Visitation will be held Thursday (Nov 17, 2016) 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. The family thanks the loving and caring staff at Cassena Care in New Britain. The nurses and aides who cared for our mom are true angels. Their kindness and compassion will always be remembered. Memorial donations can be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church, New Britain.
