Madeline F. Shaw , 89, of New Britain, died Friday (Nov. 11, 2016) at an area convalescent home. Born in New Britain, the daughter of the late William T. and Helen (Mahoney) Shaw, she was a lifelong resident. A graduate of New Britain High School, she started her career at the Heublein Company and retired from Notheast Utilities (now Eversourse) tweny five years ago. An avid golfer, she played at Timberlin Golf Course, was a volunteer with the Southern New England Women’s Golf Association, the Traveler’s Championship at the TPC River Highlands and was a member of St. Joseph’s Church. Madeline is survived by two nephews and two nieces; Everett A. Shaw, William T. Shaw, Mary M. Shaw and Peggy Rish. She was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond Shaw, William Shaw and Clement Shaw. Funeral services will be held Thursday (Nov. 17, 2016) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Church 195 So. Main St. New Britain, burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00AM until the time of the Mass at the Farrell Funeral Home 110 Franklin Sq.
